I am thankful for.... // as inspired by Dee, Rina & Dedek

I have been reading Dee's posts on Instagram where she posts what she's thankful for for that particular day. Then last night I saw Rina's post and also my cousin's, posting the things that they are thankful for.

I reckon I should do the same as I am feeling very blessed as of late.

Things that I am thankful:

1. My Customers

Just look at the array of beautiful colours they have given to my babies. I am always so happy to see customers posting and tagging me pictures of them wearing my products and creations. I am very thankful for this. I am also very thankful for having friends whom I don't mind being generous for and giving them lovely things to wear and use ;)

2. Football Matches DPMM FC 3 - 2 HOME Utd. Hello! What else can I say? Sitting at the drumline section really does a chapter on your adrenaline. (Funny pic of me at Rano looking like I was wearing the niqab/purdah. My cousins and I are currently laughing our asses off on Whatsapp at the sight!)

3. Family. I love my family! With all my heart and soul, with every single connective tissue, with every laughter and tears.

4. Joey.

5. Kinect. Hello, I get to play Just Dance, how can I not be thankful?

So anyhu, hope you all have something to be thankful for everyday. This is especially helpful when you're feeling stressed out either at work or at school. When you feel like you've given up hope, take a moment to sit back and think about the things that you are thankful for and bask in the happiness of that one, insyAllah you will feel a lot better. Don't wallow on your bitterness and self pity coz then you'll feel worst than when you started.

I think I have said this before: Happiness is Contagious.

The rest is up to you :)

Beads beads BEADS! // and an announcement for the Dreamcatchers

Simba says Hello!
Assalammualaikum all!

Miss Dizzy Moo would like to make a little announcement that she's been keeping on the down low for a while now - stillcarvings has been working on new bead bracelets! Here she is hugging them all to sleep last night wishing them the best of luck upon their release today.

LOL!

I have six of these to sell. They're very cheap! $5 a pop. And with every one that is purchased by you guys, I will take $1 from the profit and add in another $1 from my own pocket. That amount will then be donated to Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al Hajah Maryam. So say ALL of them get sold, the total amount to be donated will be $12 dollars. Pretty good deal innit? THAT on top of the other 10% made from sales of other items would be an additional help for the organisation.

So please feel free to make your selection and email me at shop.stillcarvings@gmail.com to let me know what you wish to get. Here's what I need to know from you guys:
  1. Name
  2. Phone number
  3. What you'd like to get
And we go from there. I do meet-ups, delivery AND Speedpost for an additional $4 :) Meet-ups/delivery to Tutong and Bandar will require an additional $4 as well so the option is yours.

So, anyhuu, DREAMCATCHERS:

  1. I will release them at 8PM tonight.
  2. Upon the release I will make an announcement on Instagram.
  3. Go to my Etsy page HERE. (tell me if it's not working)
  4. Look at the details. Please choose carefully. You will most probably be fighting with everyone else so you wont be able to change your selection once its done. Be quick! Practice by playing cross word puzzles or Sudoku first LOL!
  5. Once you know what you want you can either 1) Make the order directly on Etsy - you have to register first; or 2) Email me at shop.stillcarvings@gmail.com. And please give me your details as mentioned earlier above. But I will give priority to those who make orders on Etsy, okay, so pleaaasseeee spend just 5 minutes to register.
  6. If you have my Facebook, you can still make your order through that also but #5 still applies.
Easy-peasy right?

Take Note: I will not consider any orders made through Whatsapp, SMS and phonecalls. Email, Facebook, or Etsy only.

That's about it at the moment, I will keep updating you guys if anything comes up. Til then, I would like to wish you all good luck and happy shopping!!

10% of the sale of these products will be donated to Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al Hajah Maryam.

stillcarvings Update: Dreamcatchers // and an announcement.

Assalam all,
Lo' and behold! We be selling them Dreamcatcher this September. All handmade, no cheats! Ok, maybe we don't grow those feathers on our backs but we do weave the webs ourselves - not from our behinds like spiders though, we use a special device called our fingers.

But of course the Dreamcatcher Bracelets will still be sold separately (extra announcement, this).
Picture courtesy of Rina from stillcarvings' first Dreamcatcher Bracelets release. Thanks babe =*

As with the initial announcement. Alright, here goes, this will be the most correct time to announce this I suppose. It has been months since my fiance and I came to this conclusion. As you all know, stillcarvings supports charity causes 100% and we strongly believe that this talent of ours is given to not just use it to our own advantage, but also to give back to the Lords' creations. Therefore, I am so happy to announce that for every sale made from the stillcarvings creations, a percentage will be donated to Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al Hajah Maryam.

Why this organisation? Well after the Special Olympics Charity Bazaar that we joined last time, I felt a really special connection to them, apart from having made friends with the lovely ladies of Pusat Ehsan themselves! They were just next to our booth and they are a bunch of cheery and very supportive ones! Plus, I simply LOVED that they sew and quilt lovely lovely things (that you can buy also!) so they get my vote.  There are many other reasons for this but I will talk about that in my future posts. It's all about supporting an organization that wishes for a greater good - much like stillcarvings.

I should thank a lot of you for giving stillcarvings your support. May Allah grant you abundance of rizq and a good place in jannah. What started as a hobby has now turned into something valuable and dear to me. This has been more than just a self-justification and satisfaction thing, it is more than that now and you should all pat yourselves on the back for being such good sports.

Til the next post! Ciao!!

p/s Ramadan is ending soon. Lets spend these last few days praying to Allah SWT. Hope that this will not be our last Ramadan so that we may be able to enjoy such a beautiful month once again =)

A stillcarvings Journey: New York/London

Alhamdulillah. Another milestone for stillcarvings.
I owe this pic, and all other things that I do, to Miss Hana Tajima of StyleCovered and Maysaa.

She has inspired me to reach out and do so much.

On her: Weave&Chain Bracelet and also the Tribal Braid Bracelet with Hex.

You know, with all this containment of joy, my heart is just going!

A stillcarvings Exclusive

Hello my lovelies!

The stillcarvings exclusive is yet again on display! Thank you ever so much to those who has gone the extra mile to get our first release of the Dreamcatcher Bracelets.

Yes, if you realise, the bracelets are made big enough so that they can double as anklets as well so those who got them are extra lucky!

Aaandd it is already the 17th of July so stillcarvings is officially on a break! Of course I am still waiting for more pictures of people wearing the Dreamcatchers because it is the love but as for now I ain't takin nemore orders and/or requests. I is tired and re-opening in September leaves me plenty of time to recover, rest and most importantly concentrate on Ramadhan, insyAllah.

Anyhoo, thanks again and may the fasting month bring you a lot of rizq and energy to abstain from food and all the other things that make you human. May Allah bless you all with His mighty grace. Amin.

p/s You may have realised that I have been using stillcarvings which previously was Still Carvings. Reason being that I have registered and was adviced to "stillcarvings" it rather than Still Carvings (which I prefer actually, seeing how cool that actually is) by the Ministry of Finance. So yeay to the cool government and yeay to STILLCARVINGS!

Great News!!!

*click for larger image*

Hey All!
My sister and I are joining powers (LOL!) If you are familiar with her Instagram account, she has been selling those real rad dreamcatchers that usually sell for hundreds in the shops!

This time around we are selling my bracelets and her dreamcatchers. Together. Hence, we have produced the Dreamcatcher Bracelets.

The Dreamcatchers take quite some time to make and they are not easy. So we have decided to give it a test run by making five bracelets first. If there are a lot of demands for it we will be making more and more and MORE!

The bracelets will be incorporated with the STILLCARVINGS Tribal Braid to give them a more authentic Red Indian slash Native American feel. What's not to like? All I can say is that they will be colourful and eye-catching. They will definitely become your wardrobe staple!

If you're not familiar with the cultural connotation of the dreamcatcher, you may click HERE for a little bit of fun read and links to more stories about the dreamcatchers.

So how to get them?
OK. At 12noon this Wednesday, 11 July 2012, I will be releasing all five Dreamcatcher Bracelets in this blog. I will post them so that they'll have individual comment fields. So all you have to do is type BOOK under the pictures. If you're in luck you'll be the first people to get them. Otherwise, you'll have to wait for the next batch - which will be in September =)

May luck ever be in your favour! Thank you for always supporting STILLCARVINGS! Come September there will be more surprises at store for everyone!

Ciao!

A stillcarvings Exclusive

Nothing I like better than seeing my creations on the arms of others. I think I might have a little fetish for beautifully candied arms hence why this is the awesomest display of stillcarvings collections so far (OK, I am not taking extra credit because there are bracelets that aren't mine but they go along well with each other right so I'm just gonna talk about them as if they're mine too =p)

Thank you, Miss RR *identity a little secret due to extravagant awesomeness so as to avoid from being chased on the streets - but not so secret when you're on my Facebook* for your recent purchase! Seen on her arm are the Tribal Braids (custom made for her), the Still Hex Macrame and a Weave&Chain bracelet.

I had extra fun making the bracelets because they're so colourful and very pretty! I was just staring at them after they were complete and I couldn't help but think how these are the best Tribal Braids I've made so far. Hmm, this is getting a little bit obsessive and overly exaggerated but you know you have got to admit that they are very very nice.

You have 6 days left to place your orders for any of the bracelets by stillcarvings. Til then, if you find yourself keen to get anything from me do let me know at nisa202@gmail.com and I will try to assist you best I can. Just to inform you that we are not producing anymore Still Hex at the moment - production will commence in September but I will not be taking anymore custom orders; WYSIWYG kind of thing. Will talk about this in another post!

Til then.

Ciao!!

Still Carvings Journey - KL

KLhex

Alhamdulillah.
Another milestone in the Still Carvings journey.
My bracelets have reached Kuala Lumpur!!!
Will be collaborating with my friend in July for her new releases. InsyAllah, should be a great beginning for the both of us. Thanks for giving me this opportunity to grow and expand. Such a great blessing. Am leaning towards expanding in KL, with help from lovely Wani. I hope that this will be the start of something big.

And also, presenting the new Still Carvings collections!!
Enter the Still Carvings Tribal Braid (available as they are and I also have a collection with hexes); and the Still Hex Macrame. It was a special request by Wani, herself, but now I would like to include it in the official Still Hex collection!!  Thank you, Allah, for giving me the gift of time and strength to push myself forward.

I will be releasing more of the Tribal Braid ones in the next post!
And more about Still Hex Macrame in the near future.

Such a great day amidst how busy I have been with le career *jumps in colourful joy*
